It does look like a gardenia (would have to see the blooms to be sure though), have to say I've never heard of one that's not fragrant though, perhaps it's some mutation that arises occasionally but isn't propagated and developed on purpose for obvious reasons. I have a few dwarf Gardenias that are really flowering. Do these plants produce seeds or seed pods?

If so where would I look? Ive inspected where the dead flower was, but dont see anything.
